An abstracted, Impressionist and painterly image of the River Irfon at Llangamarch.
This is one of a large series I have been working on this year. "A Welsh Dreaming" creates dreamy images of landscapes by superimposing photographs of the same location from different views. The resultant image is multilayered and complex, letting the eyes wander in and out of recognisable views and perspectives. The result is rather like the act of remembering: sometimes sharp with detail, sometimes hazy and vague. I attempt to catch the spirit of a place without pinning it down to a rigid objectivity.
The image is approximately 58cm x 30cm on the A2 paper (59.4cm x 42cm).
A photographic digital original is printed in high quality inkjet on A2 Hahnemuhle 308gsm Photo Rag archival paper.
The unmounted print will be sent rolled within a sturdy Post Tube.
