One-of-a-kind - only ever one made. This robe was entirely handmade using genuine Liberty of London Tana Lawn cotton, a fine, densely-woven fabric prized for over a century for its exceptional softness, silky feel and colour depth. A single robe uses several metres of this fabric, one of the most expensive cottons in the world, and takes many hours to cut, sew and finish by hand, including the kimono-style shawl collar, patch pockets, self-fabric belt, and a contrasting Liberty border in navy and white, which boldly complements the main fabric and gives it individuality. This isn't a factory-produced garment - it's a small-batch, one-off piece made with the same care as a bespoke item, designed to last for years rather than seasons. The maker has now retired, so this design can never be recreated - no one else will ever have the same one. The main fabric is a beautiful Liberty design in a subtle, soft orange, with the print picked out in fawn and white. Liberty Print fabrics have been in production since the 1920s and are renowned for their distinctive designs drawn from the natural world; florals, paisleys and peacock feather motifs are some of the best known, with many original early designs remaining among the most popular today.
