Ijikijolo - Fibre Wall Art - Concentric Circle Design - One of a Kind

This handcrafted fibre artwork, Ijikijolo 5, is part of my Ijikijolo collection. Created from off-white cotton macramé cord, braided cotton yarn in rich berry tones, soft taupe fibres and carefully placed cowrie shells, it combines natural texture with balanced design to create an original piece of fibre wall art. The rich berry tones, paired with natural cotton and soft neutral fibres, inspired the name Ijikijolo, the Zulu word for "berry". Layered concentric forms, handcrafted texture and cowrie shells come together to create one-of-a-kind fibre artwork that feels both contemporary and timeless. Built around a series of concentric circles, the design combines wrapped cotton cord with alternating taupe and off-white fringe to create rhythm, depth and texture. Carefully positioned cowrie shells add natural detail while guiding the eye through the composition, resulting in a calm and harmonious piece that celebrates handcrafted simplicity. Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted only once. Once complete, the design is retired and will not be repeated, making it a truly one-of-a-kind piece of original fibre art.
