My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

This quirky mixed media assemblage would make a unique gift for any occasion or keep it for yourself to add a pop of colour to your home.
The sturdy, freestanding wooden compartment box has been painted black and filled with an assortment of treasures from across the globe. I've used a colour palette of greens, pinks and ochres and added paint and decorative papers to the backgrounds to create a boho feel.
The displayed items include carved Yak bone fish from Nepal, pressed glass beads from the Czech Republic, a small Buddha amulet from Thailand, bone beads from Africa and a bronze-tone turtle pendant from Mykonos in Greece. I've also used beads and jewellery findings and made and painted a couple of clay tiles.
The overall size is approx. 24cm wide x 33cm high and 4.5cm deep.
