The Treachery of Images Spoon

A hand stamped vintage nickel silver alloy spoon with wording inspired by Rene Magritte's masterpiece 'The Treachery of Images'. Is it or isn't it a spoon? Is it still a spoon if it says it isn't one? Is the inscription true, or not? Is it Art? Either way you can stir tea or eat dessert with it so ultimately these questions are of purely intellectual interest. This spoon is either a large teaspoon or a small dessertspoon, measuring approximately 16.5cm long. It has an ornately embossed handle with a heart, scrolls and foliage. This would make a fun little gift for a tea-loving artiste or an art-loving tea drinker, or why not just treat yourself to a little bit of daftness to brighten your own day. Especially if you live or work with people who just wouldn't get the joke... This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. Please study the photographs with care and note that the spoon is vintage and pre-owned. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand.
