A tribute to a childhood memory and a gentle strength.
This piece is named after a woman who taught me when I was only seven years old. I always found her name so unique and beautiful. She was a sister and a teacher who left a deep impression on me. She was a small woman with grey hair in her religious habit-very soft and kind, yet strict and disciplined at the same time. I remember her as someone very skillful with her hands, a trait I deeply admire.
To reflect her personality, I chose delicate rose petals from France and placed them on Finnish birch wood. I used real freshwater pearls hidden beneath the petals to create a subtle relief and 3D effect. Touches of gold leaf add a precious light to the composition. It is an artwork about respect, memory, and the people who help shape who we become.
Size: 13x13 cm artwork in a 27x27x6 cm deep box frame.
Materials: Dried rose petals from France, Finnish birch, gold leaf, freshwater pearls, and eco-label acrylic.
Glass: I used AR 92 anti-reflective glass. The glass is so clear it is almost invisible, allowing you to focus entirely on the delicate textures of the roses.
Natural Evolution: This is a living piece. Because I use real organic materials, the colors will change slightly over time, reflecting the passing of time and the beauty of memories. Please do not hang it in a humid place.
