Kuya recites the nembutsu or invocation of Amitabha Buddha, depicted as six figures of the Buddha coming from his mouth. Statue by Kosho, early 13th century. Drypoint etching on handmade Nepalese lokta paper. One-of-a-kind, unique original. I am interested in drypoint etching printmaking as a medium to use found images--in different colours, with added mixed media, overprinting, painting on them with watercolour, acrylic or India ink. Although I make multiple prints from each plate, I rarely if ever use the same colour, combination of chine collé, and so on. Each one is a unique work.
