It is an original 1960s design featuring the granny square stitch for a timeless look. The design is from a vintage crochet pattern from Sirdar in Wakefield. I have replicated the design with a chunky acrylic/wool blend, matching the original colours as much as possible. This bolero and hat set has been handmade in Yorkshire by me, crochet designer Michelle Roper-Shaw. My crochet work has also been commissioned for film productions including Wonka, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Blitz and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

I love the crochet styles from the 1960s and 70s. This chunky bolero and cap set is from a Sirdar pattern in the 1960s.
