About this item
A stunning large statement pendant in a rich dark sea blue with ripples of paler blue, turquoise and white. The smooth pebble shaped glass pendant was created from multiple layers of coloured glass fused together in my kiln, and has an irresistibly tactile matt surface just like seaglass. The pendant hangs from an unobtrusive stainless steel choker via a curved 'invisible' bail, which means that it almost appears to float when worn - it's a very neat look. The necklace comes complete with a gift box, ready to give as a gift. The fused glass pendant is securely fixed to an 'invisible' silver plated bail with industrial strength adhesive. This pendant is 4.8cm (2") wide at the widest point, and 3.8cm (1.75") tall. The stainless steel choker is 42.5cm (17") long and fastens with a silver plated screw clasp. EARRINGS: If you would like to add earrings to make a set, this pendant is a good match for the Sea Blue coloured earrings which are available as both a stud and a drop earring in my shop. . Handmade by me, Helen Smith, in my studio on the Wirral peninsula, NW England. Due to the nature of the process, every one of my pendants is unique - check out the 'Inspiration' tab to find out more about how I make them. . FREE SHIPPING within the UK. .

These pendants are born of my love of sea smoothed pebbles and sea glass. I make them in series, and each individual pendant in a series is different from the next so you really are getting a unique piece. I create the pendants by fusing together many layers of glass in my kiln to create a slab of glass; then break this slab up into chunks and fire these again in the kiln, sometimes once, sometimes a few times, to create a series of glass pebbles. Each kiln firing takes up to 24 hours, so you can see the amount of time and work that goes into each piece. Once I'm happy with the design of each piece I sandblast the glass and fire it one final time in my kiln to give it the lovely tactile smooth satin finish before attaching the silver plated bail.
