Kintsugi Botanical Cyanotype Art, Original Art, Japanese themed Artwork

Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging, which can convey a story or capture a feeling. In this photogram, the Acer stem and leaves create a strong shape, with the fragile umbel flowers of Ammi majus softening the area in between, creating a harmony of strength and softness. The vase has its own story; after being damaged, it tells of being repaired with gold and transformed into a more beautiful vessel, with a new life. This is a Japanese practice called Kintsugi, which embraces imperfection and finds strength in a second life.
