"Queen of the Night" was inspired by the Welsh tale of Bloduewedd, which translates as "flower face". The was once a Welsh lord who was forbidden to marry a human, so a wife was made for him out of flowers by a wizard. However Bloduewedd was unfaithful to him and tried to kill him, so the wizard punished her by turning her into an owl so she could never see daylight again! The original artwork is drawn in coloured pencil and PanPastels.
