About this item
This quirky 1950s gingham, fruit and vegetable design fabric was once a curtain! I've upcycled it into hand made one-of-a-kind tote bags - Great for shopping or a perfect 'analog bag' for carrying a book and some snacks for a trip to the park for a picnic. They measure a roomy 35cm depth x 40cm width (laid flat) and have handles long enough to carry on your shoulder. They have a flat bottom, which makes it easier when you're packing it with your shopping, and can easily be folded or rolled and popped in your handbag for those times when, if you're like me, you pop to the shops for one thing and end up with a basketful! Completely unique, handcrafted unlined tote bags, made with care from upcyled 1950s vintage barkcloth fabric. Hand wash or pop it in your machine on a low-temperature delicates wash, hang to dry and finish with a cool iron. These tote bag are all one-offs, entirely hand made by me in my studio in Oxfordshire. The pattern placements vary from the one pictured to ensure each bag is unique. The drawstring bag shown in the last picture is not included in the price but also available as a separate listing. https://folksy.pro/items/8502269-Fruit-Veg-Drawstring-bag-made-from-1950s-Fruit-and-Gingham-Vintage-Fabric If you have any questions or special requests, please do get in touch.

I feel very privileged to have been able to purchase this incredible piece of history for my partner with no queuing involved! It will be treasured. Thank you for caring and sharing Linda
What a treat! These notebooks were bought as a memento of a summer in Bayeux! And they did not disappoint. Beautifully made and fabulously designed, in the most beautiful fabric. Thank you Linda. We love them!
Beautiful barkcloth journal, lovingly packaged with a very thoughtful surprise. Intended as a gift but I may not be able to part with it. Linda is my favourite creator on Folksy
