About this item
This Butterfly styled vase was first fused as a flat piece to create the pattern. Hand cut orange art glass, black opal strips and white dots were arranged on a clear 15cm square base. It was fired to 730 degrees Celsius in its first overnight firing. A second overnight firing took place at 790 degrees Celsius to add in the black outlines of the wings to complete the pattern. A third overnight firing at 670 degrees Celsius then took place, draping the flat sheet over a vase mould to allow it to naturally slump over into this handkerchief folded shape. The end result is beautiful as a candle holder, fitting both small and larger tea lights. It’s also perfect as a decorative dish, ideally suited with a window behind to show off the beautiful blue glass. Approximate measurements are nearly 14cm across from fold to fold corner and 9.5cm high. Postage is included within the UK.
