Cornish surfite pendant - clouds in the summer sky

This pendant is made with Cornish surfite smoothly bezel set in sterling silver and finished with a generously sized loop bail. The surfite has an unusual pattern that, to me anyway, looks like fluffy clouds in the summer sky, the clouds are pale blue in a clear back ground (I think it has a very slight lilac hue to it rather than being colourless). This classic drop shaped pendant measures approx 49mm (inc bail) by 25mm, it comes with a sterling silver snake chain but the bail is large enough to easily fit a cord or ribbon if you wanted to swap it over.

Surfite is cured epoxy resin waste that builds up during surfboard manufacture, during the glassing stage the excess resin is drained off the board and into a bucket. Once the bucket is full and fully cured the resultant block is normally thrown away but I managed to get Toy Factory Surfboards in Newquay to sell me one and took a saw to it!
