Violin Suncatcher Stained Glass Purple Music Musical Instrument

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique. A violin in lovely shades and textures of purple glass. I've used a slighly deeper purple for the finger board, tail piece to give it more shine, I've made the pegs from millefiori purple beads and the 4 wires go down from the pegs, over the bridge (a silver Tibetan bead) to the tail piece. I've used a dichroic glass nugget I fused in my kiln as the scroll at the end of the neck. It's 16 cm tall and 6.5 cm wide. I drew the design by tracing an illustration of a violin so it is a reasonably accurate shape and size wise and the proportions should be reasonably correct.. I do happen to know how a violin fits together as I used to play one. It looks really lovely hanging in the window where it catches the light. The suncatcher hangs from a silver chain which is securely attached in 2 places to the violin via soldered wire rings. This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
