Handmade Iolite ring size Q Made from recycled Sterling Silver 3mm round faceted Iolite gem has been set into this 4 mm wide handmade lightly textured Sterling Silver band ring, made from recycled sterling silver. Iolite gem is the gem-quality variety of the mineral cordierite it has shades of violet & blue.It has also been commonly known as the "water sapphire", although is not a true sapphire. The name "iolite" comes from the Greek word for violet. Another old name is dichroite, a Greek word meaning "two-colored rock", a reference to cordierite's strong pleochroism. The ring can be worm as an engagement ring, stacked with other rings or worn as a solitaire dress ring. The ring is fully hallmarked and carries my unique makers mark.
