About this item
Striking necklace featuring 8mm Crackle Quartz set between 6mm Bloodstone beads. Each Crackle Quartz bead is highlighted by tiny 3mm faceted AAA grade crystal Quartz. At the centre is a pendant made from a crackle Quartz and a Bloodstone bead, topped with a trio of faceted Quartz beads. The necklace graduates to 4mm Bloodstone interspersed with faceted Quartz. The Crackle Quartz beads have the appearance of crushed ice, and the Bloodstone beads are varying shades of dark forest green with occasional russet flecks. The piece fastens with a Tibetan silver toggle clasp in the shape of snake. This clasp is nickel and lead free. This necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches (42cm), excluding the pendant Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag. Rock Crystal, aka Crystal Quartz, Clear Quartz or White Quartz, is the semi-precious alternative to Diamond as the April Birthstone, while Bloodstone is the traditional Zodiac stone for Aries (March 22 - April 20). Crackle Quartz is White Quartz that has been heat-treated then water-cooled to produce a network of tiny fractures. The result is a beautifully sparkly stone that looks like crushed ice. 'Quartz' comes from the Greek for ice - the ancient Greeks believed it was ice that was so deeply frozen it couldn't melt. In the middle ages, clairvoyants used balls of clear Quartz to foresee the future, Worn as jewellery it is believed to bring clarity and perspective. Bloodstone is a dark green form of Chalcedony that is flecked with occasional spots of iron oxide that resembles dried blood. Ancient warriors believed it would staunch wounds, and bring courage and protection in battle. Today it is associated with spring, new life, new beginnings and new experiences.
