These trio of vases are slab built from buff clay with trees and leaves imprinted using hand drawn templates. They are decorated with under-glaze and finished with a variety of glaze colours. Sections of the clay have been left unglazed to give a contrast to the tree and leaf decoration, and to show off the beauty and warmth of stoneware clay in its natural fired state. When displayed as a trio the vases link to form a continuous ‘woodland’. Size: approx. 28cm w x 22cm h x 4.5cm d

I made the pieces on show specifically for the ‘Autumn Reflections’ exhibition. The decoration on the vases are inspired by the changing colours of falling leaves found in the woods as the seasons move from Summer to Autumn.
