These oval stud earrings feature bezel set amethyst cabochons amd are finished off with sterling silver posts and scrolls. The amethysts are rose cut meaning that they have facets on the curved top surface which makes them sparkle in the sunshine. The amethysts are a lovely vibrant mid purple colour, there is a little colour zoning in one of the stones with a paler section near the edge but this is not unusual for natural amethyst. The studs are oval shape measuring approx 9mm by 7mm (these are quite shallow stones (approx 3mm)) and the post is mounted in the middle of the earring. Amethyst is the birthstone associated with February birthdays, ancient myth had amethyst protecting people against getting drunk (FYI it doesn't) so maybe these are the perfect present if you know the birthday girl is planning a boozy party (they won't stop the hangover though). They measure 9mm by 7mm oval shape and come in a gift box
