Black Cat Art Print - Fairytale Art, Cat Art print, cat lover's gift

About this Black Cat Art Print: Named "Cat Beginning", the inspiration behind this enduringly popular piece was a poem called "Cat Began", by Andrew Matthews, about the primordial cat (see the fabulous poem below)! As an illustrator, I love to find stories and poems which spark my imagination and give meaning to my work. I also adore cats! This particular cat was inspired by my gorgeous, free spirited cat - Bindu. I used chalk pastels, pencils and coloured pencils to create this piece and enjoyed adding all the little surreal elements! This makes a magical and unique gift for a cat lover of any age! The print can be personalised: I can write a dedication on the front: "To (person's name)" or I can write a longer message from you on the back - just let me know! Limited edition of 300. The image is set on a white background. This is a beautiful Fine Art professional inkjet Giclee Print on Hahnemuhle Photorag 308 gsm paper. Securely wrapped, all of my prints are sent Tracked and Signed, wherever possible! "Cat began" by Andrew Matthews "Cat began. She took the howling of the wind, She took the screeching of the owl And made her voice. For her coat She took the softness of the snow, She took the yellow of the sand, She took the shadows of the branches of the trees. From deep wells She took the silences of stones, She took the moving of the water For her walk. Then at night Cat took the glittering of stars, She took the blackness of the sky To make her eyes. Fire and ice Went in the sharpness of her claws And for their shape She took the new moon's slender curve - And Cat was made."
