Lilac Coiled Rope Bowl with Floral Fabric Trim

Lilac coiled rope bowl. This lovely little textile trinket bowl has been made from cotton rope, which has been coiled, whilst being stitched on my sewing machine, and formed into a bowl shape. During this process, sections of the rope have been wrapped with strips of fabric, adding pretty blocks of pattern and colour to the finished dish. The rope is a pretty lilac colour, and the fabric is lovely ditsy floral print in pretty shades of lilac, pink, yellow and green, on a cream background. The dish has been finished with a decorative loop and two wooden buttons, one on the inside and one on the outside of the bowl. The natural wood buttons are inscribed with the word “Handmade” and two tiny hearts. This lovely little bowl can be used to store all sorts of small knick-knacks, or just left empty as decorative ornament. It would make a lovely gift, perhaps for a new home.
