As the world turns and we gradually head back towards spring, though it's a long way off, we often get glimpses of yellows from winter Aconites and the odd white heads of snowdrops breaking ground. It's that particular time of year which inspired the colours in this scarf. It's lightweight, of medium-length, 140cm long (around 55 inches) without tassles and approx 15cm wide (5.75 inches). The vast majority of it is cotton yarn, with just a touch of mohair to add to the drape. Wash carefully at low temperature and dry flat.

We all get a bit fed up towards the end of winter, waiting for spring to come, but it always does - and these days ever-more rapidly than before. Yet there are highlights: tiny winter aconites are pushing their yellow faces into the sun; the odd snowdrop puts up its shaft though its flowerhead remains tightly furled. There's a hint of green in the catkins in the trees, and a variety of grey-blues in the sky. It's this time of year and the anticipation it brings I'm trying to capture in this lightweight, toss around the neck-type scarf.
