About this item
Stunning and unusual golden denim work apron, also one of a kind, pieced together using fabric leftover from making other aprons in my range. The tough fabric and design features are well suited to craftspeople and gardeners - the bib has a row of 3 pockets overhanging the apron skirt, for small tools, seed packets etc whilst the skirt has a roomy side pocket. Adjustable straps give the comfort of a crossback apron combined with the snug fit of a tie apron... or just leave loose for an easy-fit! Thoughtfully designed, beautifully sewn and made-to-last, this apron is highly specialised artists workwear. (!) Apron on the model was the first one I made - The 2 flat apron photos show actual apron for sale, very similar but unique! KEY FEATURES: One of a kind - Adjustable crossback straps knot through fabric loops - Tough heavyweight 11oz denim - Large skirt pocket - Strongly constructed - Thoroughly researched & tested design - Sustainable small batch making SIZE: UNISEX SMALL-LARGE Length cm bib top to hem, cm across bib top, cm apron skirt width. (Model UK10/US6 170cm/5'7"). FABRIC & CARE: 100% cotton. Cotton-like acrylic herringbone tape. Machine washable 30C, slow spin. Do not tumble dry. The ochre denim fabric used for this apron is absolutely gorgeous, golden on the outside and creamy colour on the reverse! The remnants that go to make up the apron came from making crossback aprons and split leg aprons - there are still a couple of No7:1 adjustable crossback aprons left in this fabric. Working in my studio in hilly-leafy South-East London, I make aprons in small batches using cotton canvas, denim or drill - fabrics that are natural, washable and durable. Careful attention to detail, strength of construction and beautiful stitching result in a quality of finish simply not possible in mass production. I cut fabric economically, minimising waste and saving the small remnants to make one-of-a-kind bags and aprons for my ‘Boro Collection’.

I already had a lovely bespoke apron for my silversmithing, but I've used that one a decade and it's got a bit baggy. This new one is fabulous. It's really sturdy yet soft denim and 100 denim, so it won't stretch nor be a fire risk The pocket has already rescued a gemstone for me.
