About this item
Our Irish Moss fine perle 16 thread collection features gentle greens, corals and russet in a pack of five skeins. The single strand cotton sews as size 16 perle embroidery thread in a beautiful range of variegated colours. Mercerised cotton is very strong and resistant to fluffing whilst giving a subtle sheen when stitched. The skeins are wound in our studio as a continuous length. There are no knots or joins. Size 16 perle threads are not easy to find and they lend themselves well to all embroidery techniques including cross stitch, blackwork, needlepoint, fine Hardanger, pulled or drawn thread work and other counted stitch techniques. In general embroidery, the gentle twist of the thread provides texture and definition. Pack of 5 x 20m (approx). The Irish Moss collection features colours of Beige, Coral, Russet and green. We think of mass as green and soggy but there are many varieties adorning the temperate lands of Ireland with colours ranging from green to russet and coral. It creates a very relaxing palette.
