Fluorite has been called 'the most colourful mineral in the world' because it can be found in all colours of the spectrum. A translucent stone, the most commonly found shades are green, purple, yellow, and blue. Fluorite was associated with the Roman goddess Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom. It was thought that Fluorite stimulated the brain cells, enabling the two hemispheres of the brain to work in harmony, bringing clarity and calm.
