This beautiful cardigan is hand knitted in a hand dyed 4ply yarn. The cardigan has a cable border up the fronts and has a collar. The bands, ribs and collar are worked in a double rib and it fasten at the front with five blue buttons. The yarn used is 75% superwash merino 25% nylon. It is hand dyed by Abstract Cat Crafts in shades of blue, called passing ciirrus, and it is recommended that it be handwashed in cool water. Hand dyed yarn is much more expensive than branded yarn, making the finished garment more expensive, but the colours have depth, are unique and beautiful quality. I used an older pattern for this cardigan and knit the 3-6 month old size. The measurements are 50cm chest, 27cm long, 16cm sleeve.

I bought the gorgeous hand dyed yarn from Abstract Cat Crafts, loving the colours. I then found a pattern in a booklet I had 16 years ago when knitting for my grandchildren. I think it has turned out very well and totally different to the cream colour used in the pattern pictures.
