I was creating a book which illustrated 'The Velveteen Rabbit' story and this was for the front end papers. Whilst working, I listened to a recording of the story which I used to listen to as a child - the music is incredibly evocative to me and really inspired the feeling in my illustrations. The colours are slightly surreal and the setting of the garden is timeless. It also feels like the little boy could have been playing there for hours.
