Most of the time I think about the beauty in nature, beautiful flowers and cute animals which is reflected in my work. There is so much inspiration I can draw from nature. Every now and then however, I create something based on some deep and serious thoughts I have and this is one of those pieces! My thinking behind this piece is related to sleep/death, morbid I know! but is symbolic of the long sleep and our return to nature and the earth. The opium poppies are symbolic of sleep and the butterflies generally represent resurrection, renewal and hope. This symbolist art piece is for those who feel at one in nature and embrace all aspects of our human nature.
