About this item
This a variation on the traditional Dorset cross wheel button that I usually make. The design was strongly influenced by a war time memory of my mother who said that they used to make something similar to brighten an outfit in austere times. The design of this brooch is one of a collection inspired by British wild flowers, in this case bluebells. It is worked on a metal ring and measures 3.2 cm across. The ring is covered in a mid green cotton thread and the flowers are worked in French knots in shades of blue and a lilac colour. The brooch fastens with a simple brooch pin that has been securely attached to the reverse.

A wartime reminiscence sparked the idea for this vintage inspired brooch together with my observations of wild flowers on my daily dog walk.

Many thanks.This arrived promptly. Definitely worth the money. The detailed instructions are better than I have seen, and there's plenty of different traditional designs to try. If you were going for upgrades, I would suggest more colour photos, to make it easier to see the detail and or instructions for non-traditional effects
