About this item
A beautiful handmade Collagraph of Astrantias printed on Fabriano 300 gsm weight archival paper with Caligo oil based ink and finished by hand tinting with artist quality watercolours. Mounted in snow white acid free card. Signed by the artist below the image along with the title. Backed with card and cellophane wrapped for protection. Supplied unframed. A Collagraph is a printmaking process in which materials are applied to a rigid substrate, in this case card. The plate is built up with collaged textured papers and sealed before inking and printing onto high quality archival paper. Different tonal effects can be achieved with the technique due to the depth of relief and differential inking that results from the collagraph plate's highly textured surface. Each is an individual artwork with minor variations. Image dimensions 15 x 15cm Paper dimensions 27 x 27cm PLEASE NOTE :- This is an original artwork NOT a digital print.

Astrantias are beautiful paper like cottage garden perennials otherwise known as Masterwort. They inspired me to make this collagraph.

Bought 1 itemI absolutely love these garlands . They are large enough to stand out on a wall, the colours are really fresh and nice. In fact, I still have one hanging discreetly on a side wall because I can’t bear to pack it away. The seller was very understanding when the first one failed to arrive, and this year, although Christmas post was slow or delayed, it was a no show. She duly sent another , kind of her. I then reordered and with my order a lovely Valentine heart, which I’m keeping for Feb 14th for my other half. The baubles and heart are made of tough paper , not flimsy , almost seemed to be like hardwood.. A nice find and a keeper. The artist has in particular a lovely bird logo which would lend itself to cards and a garland too. Thank you, Pat!
