About this item
This panel is created from fused glass and glass powder and depicts grasses on the shore at sunset, inspired by my local shoreline. The glass panel in shades of blue has a matt finish with a crackle effect which allows the light to shine through. The panel is float mounted on a white board and framed in a white solid wood frame. Fused glass art panel created by me in my home studio on the Wirral peninsula, NW England. DIMENSIONS: The solid wood frame measures 24cm (9.75”) square and 3.5cm (1.5”) deep. The glass panel is 13cm (5”) square and is float mounted onto a white panel 20cm (8”) square. The frame is ready to hang with a keyhole hanger on the back and is supplied with the correct size screw.

This panel is part of my ‘Lockdown Sketchbook’ series. At first I viewed the Covid-19 lockdown period as a time when I would be able to concentrate on my art without the usual everyday distractions. And yet, as the world changed, and in common with many other artists, I found myself stuck. I went back to basics and started some mark making in my sketchbook and it wasn’t long before I wanted to take these marks onto the glass and so this series evolved; initially focused on abstract marks; then extending the technique to sketches of my beloved coastal landscape.
