About this item
For this piece I have chosen twenty different cotton prints from which I have hand cut miniature hearts, stitching each one into place with fine stitches. The fabrics are vintage, dating from 1920s/30s. I love these very old fabrics, the colours are more subtle than those achieved with modern dyes, and they have the added charm of their age! Perfect gift when you want to send lots of love! The textile is in a lightly distressed whitened wood frame measuring just 7" (18cm) square; it will arrive with glass in place, corded, all ready to hang, with my studio stamp on the back. The mount carries the title 'Little Blue Hearts' and is signed. I always pack my embroideries with great care so you can be sure it will arrive in perfect condition. 1st class Royal Mail delivery £5.50, only charged once no matter how many items are in your basket. These hearts are cut from small fabric samples given to me by a relative who told me they are getting on for 100 years old! Carefully washed and ironed I use the pieces sparingly, but as a collection of hearts I think they look great altogether - still together after all these years!
