About this item
I've made these purses with a very pretty Liberty Tana Lawn print called 'Ffion' from their Classic collection. This print was inspired by a simple woodblock design created for Liberty in 1959. For the blue purse, the ditsy floral print is on a background of rich purple blue with highlights of a lighter blue in the leaves, and a pop of red to the centres of the flowers. The yellow purse has a backgroud of yellow with light green leaves and pink flower centres. The purse outer is interfaced for strength and I've added some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purses are lined with rich red and pomegranate coloured cottons - hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about but still beautifully soft. The engraved metal frame of the purses are a silver colour and I've hand stitched them into place using a perle cotton to co-ordinate with the reds and pinks in the fabrics. The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the mid part of the frame and 12cm (4.75 inches) at the widest point, at the bottom, where I've boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the purse of 3cm (1.25 inch). It stands 9cm (3.5 inches) tall.
