I make hand embroidered “ditty” bags which are suitable to keep small treasures in or they make ideal project bags for knitting or sewing. Ditty bags were first used in the mid 19th century by sailors who kept little things in like their sewing kits. My great grandmother was well known for her use of a small bag to get her treasures in and her quirkiness has passed through the generations to her great great granddaughter
