Description

Moon Heart Mandala - Soft green/plum/pewter - 15cm ((6") round. Free machine embroidery/painted felt heart with embossed metal moons (from softened drinks cans) on painted fabrics and outlined with gold. Single sided and stiffened on the reverse (plain black) to hold it's shape. Mixed, stitched yarns zig zagged on the outer edge with a hanging loop and a single, hand rolled bead (painted paper) to finish it off. With complimentary pewter coloured stitching Thanks for looking Vx

I have worked with hearts for many years but i got inspired to make moon mandalas after making Hare Moon Gazers (you can find these in my Hare collection for sale here) and the name Luna kept coming to me from books and from friends, so I thought - why not make some moons on their own then started adding hearts too. Recycling metal lends itself beautifully to represent the moon due to the multicolour aura that heating it produces. Handmade felts are great and lend themselves for getting texture by machine stitching into it due to the thickness.
