About this item
Stranger on the Shore is the name of this original textile artwork from Heidi Meier. Previously exhibited and now available for general sale. This artwork is created using applique techniques and embroidered with freemotion machine embroidery, which is where you use your sewing machine needle like a pencil to draw patterns and shapes in thread. The textile embroidery measures A3 in size and is framed in a contemporary white frame and double mounted with acid-free mounts. The mount increases the size. The artwork will be sent recorded delivery or can be collected from my studio in Essex if you prefer. This design is also available as a giclee print and a blank greetings card, and is part of Heidi Meier's Seaside Stories collection.

'Stranger on the Shore' evokes a memory of the feeling of awe that we remember from our childhood, when we discovered something for the very first time. On this beach, two children contemplate the strange alien pink jellyfish, with a sense of wonder that we rarely experience as adults.

Bought 3 itemsAn absolutely beautiful work of art which is so detailed. I am in awe of the skill required to use a sewing machine in this way. Heidi wrapped and packed the artwork extremely well and so it arrived in perfect condition. I purchased a lovely frame online which sets the art work off beautifully and now it is hanging in my home and I LOVE it!
