About this item
This octagonal brooch with ruby red cabochon stone is hand made using lead-free pewter. I draw my design on the pewter which I then raise and define with a boxwood tool. The next stage is mounting the stones ( they are not stuck on top but set in). The raised design is then filled and mounted on to a base and patinated and finally polished. This pewter does not tarnish like silver but can be buffed up if necessary with a silver cloth or wadding. The brooch measures 37mm x 37mm and has a 25mm safety clasp on the back.
