Jackdaws - limited edition linocut print, titled, 'Sledmere Chimneys, Yorkshire Wolds'. Hand cut and printed on a hand press in brick red, soot grey and dark grey ink. Signed, numbered and titled in pencil by the artist. Limited Edition of 100, (plus 5 Artists Proofs), once these are all sold that's the edition finished and the lino plates will be destroyed. Certificate of authenticity will be included with the print. Please Note: this is an original handmade print - NOT a digital print. As each and every print is hand printed every one is unique with it's own nuances dependant on the pressure from the press and amount of ink on the lino plate. Supplied in a cream mount. Mount size: to fit frame 28 x 35cms, (approx. 11" x 13.75"). Printed on archival quality printing paper using water based inks. Colour may vary from digital image. Picture frame not included. Artist retains all reproduction rights and copyrights. Sale does not reflect transfer of copyright. Watermark does not appear on actual print. Posted in protective packaging. While retracing the steps of David Hockney through the Yorkshire Wolds we spent some time taking in the architecture of the estate cottages in the historic village of Sledmere. The village is tucked neatly onto a rise in the chalk hills and it's 19th century red brick buildings seem rather grand for such a rural setting. Gary spotted these chimneys on top of one of the larger workers cottages and then further into the village we spied some busy Jackdaws hopping about between the chimney stacks. Photos where taken and brought back to the studio with ideas for a new print and here is Gary's finished print.
