About this item
These green and turquoise butterfly earrings are made from aluminium which I have dyed with ribbons of colour, achieving a checked pattern. I then seal the dye so that it becomes a permanent part of the metal and saw pierce out the butterfly shape by hand. The earrings really do catch the light just like they do in the photographs. The butterflies measure approximately 8mm x 8mm and are attached to sterling silver flat pad earring studs.

I love the way they are similar enough to be a pair, but as with all of my earrings, because of the uniqueness of the designs, they can never be exactly reproduced. I think this makes them quirky and one of a kind.
