They have been sanded, oiled (raw linseed) and sealed with a beeswax to a shiny glass like effect on the coster side and varnished on the tee light side, again with minor signs of its old life. With the proper care they will last for years so enjoy their new guise. As with all natural materials, a coaster cover is advisable if used for hot cups.
