Bowlerite is the name given to the hard plastic recovered from the outside of vintage bowling balls, this ball had a swirled colour palette of deep burgundy with purple, lilac and pink and must have been quite a sight as it rolled down the lanes. The burgundy has some shimmer to it which is more obvious on the reverse, the doming of the cabochon (which was determined by the shape of the bowling ball) means that it will sit better when worn the right way round but there is nothing to stop you from wearing it with the back showing. The final photo shows some slabs of rough bowlerite, the two pieces top middle are from the same bowling ball as this pendant, the rough is not included in the sale.\r\nBowlerite is warm to the touch and lightweight whilst the shape is very tactile for those that like to fiddle with their jewellery.
