This uses recycled silver and to produce this effect I used the clay as a paste - in fact in the texture you can see the brushstrokes which makes it a really tactile design. Each time I made the stars they looked slightly different and there are only 5 in existence. By firing the star in my kiln the silver has become fused to the ceramic star, giving it a permanent silver plating which is of hallmark quality. (My work can be hallmarked at the London Assay Office as it it 99.9% silver, a higher silver content than sterling silver which is 92.5% but to keep costs down for the customer I only do this for heavier pieces.)\r\n\r\nThey are presented on black cotton cord (90cm) so can be worn at varying lengths depending on your outfit or you can loop it onto a chain you already own.
