It has a thick copper (2mm) base decorated using dry enamel powders applied in a painterly way to create a landscape, or, in this case to give the impression of land and sea. I see it as a view out to sea from a beach at sunset.  The pendant measures approximately 3cm x 4cm. The border is left without enamel and the satin effect is protected by a lacquer finish. The reverse of the pendant is not enamelled due to the very thick copper used, meaning it remains firm after firing in the kiln. The back is lacquered to protect the copper from tarnishing. The pendant hangs from a black cord necklace with a silver-plated fastener, the length can be chosen from list given.
