I made it from  heavy white stoneware clay which after the initial carving was biscuit fired to 950 degrees in my kiln at the bottom of the garden! It measures approx 29cm each way.\r\n\r\nOnce cool I painted the daisy design using  coloured underglazes and finished it off with a shiny clear glaze. The underside is left plain (save for my maker’s mark) and unglazed.\r\n\r\n‘Jewels of the Meadow, Gems of the Lawn’ are lines from The Lost Words by Jackie Morris- a beautifully illustrated book of poems. Well worth tracking down if you haven’t seen it! \r\n\r\nThe dish will be posted out very well wrapped in recycled materials.
