Not wanting to waste, of course, I made them slightly more bulbous and mounted them slightly closer together on one of the last pieces of mahogany I had. Personally, I think this more compact coat rack works really well, not least because of the contrast of the deep rich brown of the sapele with the more reddish brown streaks in the mahogany. At the risk of sounding pompous, I want my coat racks to look like works of art in your hallway so, granted, they won't hold a family's worth of coats, three satchels and a leather jacket. But each pebble will hold one coat absolutely beautifully! As with all my work, the pebbles are very firmly screwed and glued to the backboard. L610mm x H100mm x D40mm.
