Each of the thirty four petals have been hand-cut to be slightly different in shape and size, as you would see in nature, and arranged around the central disc. This was separately made from two layers of dark amber glass sprinkled with black finely crushed glass to represent seeds, and then fused at a high temperature to make it smooth and glossy.  The whole piece was then fused together at a lower temperature to retain texture in the layers of petals. \nIt is completely unique - no two pieces will ever be the same as I will use slightly different shades of glass or vary the petal size and shape, just as real flowers are always slightly different.\nThe piece measures approximately 19cm across and would make a lovely gift. It can be hung on a wall, but looks particularly stunning displayed against a window where the sun can shine though it. The photos show it displayed in front of an open window, and on a white board.
