{"url":"https://folksy.pro/items/7846899-patchwork-dichroic-fused-glass-brooch-049-handmade-","title":"Patchwork Dichroic Fused Glass Brooch 049 Handmade ","price":10.0,"currency_code":"GBP","provider_name":"Folksy","description":"The dichroic glass cabochon for this brooch was handmade, by me, with love.\r\n\r\nIt was fused in my glass kiln to very high temperatures, 1500 degrees F and annealed for strength.\r\n\r\nThe brooch comprises 2 layers of carefully hand-cut fusing glass Coe 90.\r\n\r\nAt the base, a layer of coloured bullseye glass and the top, a patchwork generous arrangement of precious dichroic glass, richly coloured and patterned. \r\n\r\nThe dichroic layer rather magically reflects or refracts different colours as they catch the light.  \r\n\r\nDichroic glass has to be the most perfect glass for a glass addict like myself. What I put into the kiln is never what comes out. I call it Magic.  \r\n\r\nNote the word Dichroic means showing different colours when viewed from different directions.\r\n\r\nThe cabachon is attached to a silver plated brooch pin back with E6000 strongest adhesive.\r\n\r\nMy brooches vary slightly in size but are all approximately 3 cm x 3.5cm. I make no promise of symmetry and they are not designed to be, they are handcut glass and glass has a mind of its own and once fusing the kiln that does its own thing too.\r\n\r\nI post them out in a little white gift box as shown in the photos.\r\n\r\nThe last photo shows 25 brooches in all, as I make these in small batches in my little kiln.
