I've used cool tones of turquoise and blue in my fused glass suncatcher inspired by the alliums that grow in my garden. This looks lovely hanging in a window. Each hanging is completely unique and would make a lovely gift to give a bit of colour and cheer to a friend or loved one.\r\n\r\nTo make it, I used art glass and cut 2 pieces of transparent glass the same shape and size. I then hand cut very thin copper foil with a scalpel and added it to the art glass. I stencilled powdered glass onto the design, capped it with the second piece and placed it in the kiln to fuse slowly overnight. Once completely cooled, I then added coloured and dichroic glass dots and leaves which I have made previously to give some added interest and sparkle to the design. A second firing at a slightly lower temperature is done overnight the next day to tack fuse the dots onto the design, so that they stand proud of the glass, giving it a 3D effect. Finally, I drilled holes and added the hanging wire.\r\n\r\nComes ready to hang on a silver wire.\r\n\r\nSize: 14.5cm x 7.5cm. \r\n\r\nItem comes securely packaged and wrapped in my signature turquoise tissue paper, sticker and string.
