The clay body used is a lava fleck which contains small particles of iron. These melt during the glaze firing (1260C) and react with the glaze and create small speckles. \r\n\r\nThe inside has a transparent glaze while the outside has been glazed in a dark green. The geometric lines were created with thin masking tape prior to glazing; once this was removed it leaves the raw clay surface unglazed. This becomes toasted by the glaze at the edges giving a nice orangey hue to the fired clay. Removing the lid shows the contrast between the toasted and untoasted clay.\r\n\r\nThe lid sits on top but does not fit tightly.\r\n\r\nSize: 13cm tall, 11cm wide at widest point, 3cm wide at top rim.
